SHOCKWAVE has always been about revival — a rising up of God’s people, repenting & re-dedicating themselves once again to a renewed standard of living for Him & Him alone.

Lately, we at Catalyst have been very convicted by both the Holy Spirit & God’s Word about our call to LOVE (verb!) and so we’ve postponed our initial theme of “Roots” & have decided to drive Shockwave in a different direction this year — one in which we feel… God & His Spirit leading us.

As followers of Christ, we are too often known as judgmental, hypocritical, and “holier-than-thou” types who feel the most comfortable within church walls, far away from the lost & the “sinners.”

This needs to change. Our image needs an overhaul. Ultimately, our hearts need reconditioning.

At this year’s Shockwave, we’d like to bring a revival of LOVE to the Christian church — unconditional, self-sacrificial, extending even to enemies & strangers.

This year’s Shockwave is simplified & stripped down. It’s about nothing but LOVE — our love for God & our love for others.

THE AGENDA:

We’ll start at 5:00 PM, split everyone up into 3 teams, & create Love Packages for the following families (2) and organization:

#1: THE BURRELL FAMILY (Organizers: Bryan Dodds, Chris McDougall)

Dad: paint
Mom: paint supplies
Tonya: a Bible
Jesse: socks

#2: THE NORVILLE FAMILY (Organizers: Sia O’Brien, Dave Sormillon)

TIM: canned food (chili con carne with beans, beef ravioli), milk, butter, grocery store gift cards
HIS DOGS: large breed dog food

#3: BIRTH CHOICE HEALTH CLINIC (Organizers: Alley Gambol, Lutz Abella)

** prenatal vitamins (Up & Up – Target, $4)
* diapers
* wipes
* diaper rash creme
* baby bottles
* baby food
* baby vitamins
* bibs
* baby clothes
* one-sies (:
* blankets
* baby shampoo
* maternity tops!

In order to be a blessing of love to them, we’re asking all who attend (& even those that don’t attend) to commit to bringing one or a couple of these items to donate to the Packages!

Then we’ll close the night out with an intimate session of extended worship together as one family, sans stage.
